The Story Behind the Crosses

After a church conference on prayer, our family was convicted that we, as Christians, should be praying more fervently. The idea for our crosses was sparked form our love of the Isaiah 64:8 verse.  WE set out to make a cross, from clay, comfortable to hold in your left hand.  One team member made our very first cross to hold while praying for her new, baby granddaughter.  She planned to give it to her granddaughter when she was an adult.  The cross would be a visible sign that she had been loved and lifted up in prayer for many years by her Nana.  As word traveled, we had many requests for crosses from our friends and their families.  Some wanted to use them to hold in their prayer times, to prayer for loved ones, to give as encouraging gifts, or just as a visible sign to cling to the cross.  The demand became great enough that we recognized this as an incredible ministry opportunity to encourage believer's to pray.  WE began praying individually over each cross and including scripture with each of them.  We want our crosses to not only be a call to prayer but a tool in sharing with others that Jesus is Lord.  By simply accepting His free gift of eternal life and believing in Him, we are saved!
